STORY: Cindy was determined that by the time we opened our doors in TX, we’d have a 100% Texas wine that we had made ourselves. Cindy started stalking TX growers in 2018 right after she bought the property. She soon found a block of Tempranillo in the High Plains. When they were at the blending table, she asked herself, “is one Texas wine enough or should I try to make two?” When you only have 1 block of one varietal the only way to make a 2nd wine is to blend something into it, so, she came up with the idea of telling our story in a bottle. Since Cindy is from TX and David is from WA, Cindy thought we’d do a 50/50 blend of TX and WA fruit. We used our Texas Tempranillo of course and chose Columbia Valley Syrah, since Syrah is the darling grape of WA. Cindy named it Rio Ronde because in TX, we have the Rio Grande River, and in WA we have a river called the Grande Ronde; so, keeping with that 50/50 theme Rio Ronde was born.
